
Each year, TYPROS partners with Leadership Tulsa to place more than 30 young voices on local nonprofit boards through our Get On Board internship program.
Interns participate in board training sessions before being matched with a local nonprofit and participate in six educational sessions throughout the year.

Selected applicants are required to complete the following:
1. Participants must complete at least three trainings in order to be placed on a board in July 2025.
2. Attend ALL board meetings for the nonprofit with which I am paired.

What is Get On Board?
Get On Board is an intern placement program in partnership with Leadership Tulsa and Junior League of Tulsa.
How long does the program take place?
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by the end of December 2024. Participants will then complete three board training sessions from January - June 2025, before being placed on a nonprofit board. Interns will serve on a board from July 2025 - June 2026.
What nonprofits can I be matched with?
TYPROS has more than 50 area nonprofits interns can potentially be matched with. You can view a list of examples, here.
Will I have legal or fiduciary responsibilities as a board intern?
No. Interns will not have voting authority on their board or any legal or fiduciary responsibility.
Will I be asked to join the board full-time after my internship?
It is possible, but not guaranteed or required. Approximately 70% of Get On Board interns are asked to join their board as full-time members upon internship completion.
