Locally grown food tastes better because it has had less time in transit and/or less time to sit around.
Locally grown food helps build communities because when you buy directly from the farmer, you support local farmers who are providing for you as much as they are providing for their own families and other local businesses.
Locally grown food can be better for the environment and for the animals because good farmers ensure that their land is well kept with minimal, if any, usage of chemicals or fertilizers as well as ensure humane and natural habitats for the animals they raise and the surrounding wildlife.
So, let's see what sustainable, local farming really looks like in action. Join us as we visit Grassroots Ranch, just a short 15 minutes from downtown Tulsa where we'll get to tour the ranch, see the animals and chat with local farmers about the benefits of sustainable farming and supporting a local food economy.
